The beach can be reached from the centre of Sorrento via a lift at the Villa Comunale, and also from the port of Sorrento, which can be reached on foot or by car.

Leonelli’s Beach is a historic beach club in Sorrento, run by the Leonelli family for three generations. Founded in the Marina di San Francesco in the period between the two World Wars, it has become over time a landmark for those wishing to experience the sea in the heart of the city. The beach club is set in the middle of a picturesque natural bay, framed to the west by Punta del Capo, where Villa Pollio, the former summer residence of Queen Margherita, can be seen, and to the east by Punta Scutari. On the horizon, the view opens out across the Gulf of Naples, with the city skyline and the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Vesuvius.
Over the generations, Leonelli’s Beach has grown and evolved alongside the development of tourism on the Sorrento Peninsula, while preserving its strong connection with its history and local heritage.
The Beach

Direct, gently sloping access to the sea makes it ideal for families with children and for those who prefer to enjoy the water at a leisurely pace, whether taking a swim or strolling along the shoreline.
Sundeck Terraces
Three sea-facing terraces and a spacious sundeck invite you to slow down and soak up the atmosphere of the Bay of Naples.
Sun loungers and parasols create inviting spaces to relax, while steps leading directly into the water make it easy to alternate between a refreshing swim and a few hours in the sun. All around, the blue waters of the bay and the silhouette of Mount Vesuvius provide the perfect backdrop for a day to enjoy at your own pace.
Leisure Activities
For those who prefer to enjoy the sea more actively, Leonelli’s Beach offers pedal boats and single or double kayaks, available to rent directly at the beach club. A different way to explore the coastline, leave the shore behind for a while and experience Sorrento from a unique perspective: from the sea.
Restaurant & Snack Bar
Overlooking the sea, the restaurant offers sweeping views across the Bay of Naples, which takes on a special charm as evening falls and the lights begin to shimmer across the water. The menu celebrates the flavours of Sorrento and the Mediterranean, with fresh seafood specialities, carefully crafted pizza, traditional gnocchi alla Sorrentina, Caprese salad made with local fiordilatte, and a generous selection of locally grown vegetables. Families are also warmly welcomed, with a dedicated, fully equipped area designed for younger guests.

Some flavours become part of a place and its story. Leonelli’s graffa is one of them! Still made today from a secret recipe handed down through the Leonelli family for decades, it has become one of the beach club’s most beloved specialities. Soft, fragrant and filled with memories for generations of guests, our graffa holds a little family secret that we prefer to keep just that, a secret. Some traditions are not meant to be told.
